15 killed today

Apparently there is a death toll of 15 from street clashes in Cairo today. HERE.

I had no idea anything was going on today at all, other than the expected October 6 holiday festivities. It just goes to show how big Cairo is, and how localized the violence usually is. Whenever I’m abroad and see video footage, it looks like the entire city is in meltdown, but generally it’s one neighborhood at a time that’s having problems, and always a different neighborhood.
