AUC teaching assistant killed in the Rabaa violence

I didn’t know Ahmed Sonbol (Department of Biology), but was sad to read THIS PIECE OF NEWS.

We’ve experience our share of political-related tragedies in the past few years. Along with this latest news, the mechanical engineering students shot up by a black SUV a few weeks ago, and the student we lost in the Port Said football massacre, we also lost Associate Dean Steve Everhart (of the School of Business) who was killed in 2011 by a roadside bomb in Baghdad while working as an educational consultant there.

Steve was the only one of all these people I knew personally, but it takes a toll to see so many young people from your own institution struck down prematurely by perfectly avoidable causes.
