Assumption break-up of Raba’a would result in collapse of SCAF support sadly misguided. Death toll would have to be *very* high for that.

The Western media is (quite understandably) focused on the human rights aspects of a dispossessed electoral block facing the violent breakup of a public sit-in.

It looks quite different through most Egyptian eyes: an existential threat from a sinister group that has allowed the Sinai to fall into terrorist hands and done other nefarious things.

The incongruity between these two standpoints is why the country is in serious peril at the moment, and also why the majority of Egyptians view the Western media quite horribly right now.
