U.S. policy in Egypt is all over the map

In case you missed it, John McCain showed up in Egypt and said that it was a military coup, just after John Kerry said it wasn’t. (I realize that McCain is in the opposition and has no official status in the Obama administration, but still.) Ahram says Egypt’s Foreign Minister is furious.
