Egypt’s temporary President
July 3, 2013
He is Adly Mansour, Head of the Egyptian High Constitutional Court. That’s exactly what the June 30 protestors had set out in their own roadmap as the ideal solution.
I’m picking up more and more Egyptians of a liberal, pro-Revolutionary mindset who seem a bit angry about the “coup” term. The Army’s intervention seems to be highly popular for now. Let’s hope the Army sees this through in the way they say they will.
[ADDENDUM: This was the photo posted on Ahram yesterday, but he doesn’t really look like the guy who took the oath of office as temporary President. Perhaps this photo is of Adly Mansour’s predecessor at the High Constitutional Court instead? Someone please let me know.]
