Assiut railway worker sentenced to 10 years in prison

There’s been a history of using middle management as scapegoats in Egyptian rail accidents when they work under often impossible conditions. Several convictions in the 2003 train fire that killed more than 300 were reversed on appeal, and rightly so as it appeared at the time.
