the “fabricated” email

I went back and found the message about which Leiter is skeptical. The person who wrote it is not only real, but also wrote back to me when I said (back in December 2011!) that I had posted an excerpt from it anonymously on my blog. That person responded as follows:

“get ready for a cease and desist letter!”

I’ll take back one part of my previous post, however: the original post is not especially mild (as I can see now that I’ve found it again); only the part that Leiter quoted is mild. There was indeed a bleeped out profanity in that reader comment. But those are the sorts of feelings that Leiter awakens in perhaps 30% of those who know of his existence. One hardly needs to make up such remarks.
