now preparing for the UK later this month
June 5, 2013
The semester is over here, so the first order of business is preparing some lectures for the UK a few weeks from now.
First up is the “McLuhan and Phenomenology” lecture. The term “phenomenology” here will be taken as referring to both Husserl and Heidegger.
Second is the art gallery event in Nottingham. I’ll be speaking on Boris Groys, but since we’re all speaking so briefly in Nottingham before the general discussion commences, I won’t be reading a prepared text. However, I will be writing up something on Groys within the next 4-6 weeks and will try to publish it somewhere. There is a lot to talk about here.
The final event is my response to the six friendly critiques by architecural theorists. They’ve all spoken in London already and I have all six of the papers now. I’ll be presenting my response in their presence, and then we’ll have a discussion. My understanding is that the organizers of The Architectural Exchange will be publishing the whole thing in book format somewhere. I also won’t be the last person they invite to such an exchange; apparently they plan to continue the event with others in the future.
