<p>Lots of cats were killed by tear gas in Tahrir Square during the unrest in Egypt; they’re simply too small to withstand it. Looks like the cats in Turkey are having a hard time too.</p><p>It’s something we rarely think about– the toll of human violence on animals. If you want a shock, take a look for example at the number of <em>horses</em> killed in the U.S. Civil War.</p><p> </p>
