a page where Martin Luther insults you

Click HERE, and click again and again, to be insulted repeatedly by jabs from the collected works of Martin Luther.
“A natural donkey, which carries sacks to the mill and eats thistles, can judge you – indeed, all creatures can! For a donkey knows it is a donkey and not a cow. A stone knows it is a stone; water is water, and so on through all the creatures. But you mad asses do not know you are asses.”

Somewhere in this Buffalo-area hotel is Joan Copjec, and somewhere in this hotel is Adrian Johnston. Looking forward to seeing both of them again shortly. The festivities today run from 3-6, and tomorrow (a more informal roundtable on object-oriented philosophy and psychoanalysis) from 1-3.

I’m now in Buffalo, but just a few hours ago was speaking at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. Darius Kazemi took notes, HERE.
It turns out that the best way to get from Pittsburgh to Buffalo is to drive. It seems that the air connections tend to pass absurdly through New York, Washington, or even Chicago.

It’s not his usual mode, but he did it very well in this excerpt from last night (after Romney complained that the U.S. Navy has fewer ships now than it did in 1916).

First time here since 2005. My last lecture at Duquesne was 98 lectures ago, so let’s see how old and creaky I feel this morning. In the afternoon I’ll be headed over to Carnegie-Mellon, and will speak there again tomorrow.
Dan Selcer, now Chair Director of Graduate Studies at Duquesne I believe, is an old friend from graduate school days at DePaul.
