assorted book news

August 22, 2012

I was informed today that Weird Realism: Lovecraft and Philosophy, is now printed and sitting in a warehouse. Whether that means you can order today and get the book immediately, or whether you’ll have to wait until the official publication date of late September, I don’t know. But it sounded like the former, given the way the announcement was written.

This comes on the 10-year anniversary of the publication of Tool-Being (August 2002). As of July 2002 I hadn’t published a scrap in philosophy, but now you can choose from among 10 books and 80+ articles if you are so inclined. There will be at least that much more available by August 2022, and it will probably head in some unexpected directions, given the sorts of requests that are beginning to drift in.

Speaking of which, there will be another forthcoming book to announce within the next few weeks, on a topic that many will find of great interest. And there’s the other one already in progress, though a title change is likely given that Treatise on Objects now feels too much like it steps on the toes of Tristan Garcia’s Form and Object: A Treatise on Things. Also, the content of my in-progress book has changed due to an unexpected “target of opportunity” that came up. There will be more to say on this project towards November or so.
