more on Latour’s Gifford Lectures

This morning I again ran into Bruno Latour by accident on the streets of Copacabana. Among other things, I asked him about his Gifford Lectures in Edinburgh, which will start in February. Two years ago when the invitation first came through, he said he would speak about his modes of existence project.

But now he seems to have decided that that would be overkill, since the book will already be published in French on September 20, and in English (by Harvard) in ebook format in March or April, and in print a bit later.

The topic of his Gifford Lectures will now be Gaia. Very interesting topic, and a good fit with the Gifford theme (natural religion).
