possibly large crowd today
July 31, 2012
For some reason I’d been under the impression that this first conference gathering São Paulo was more informal –perhaps due to the relaxed pace of our schedule so far– but then I heard that they had a full auditorium of 300 people yesterday. (The non-Portuguese speakers were sent sightseeing yesterday, since all the papers were in Portuguese, there were no interpreters available, and we’ll be hearing these same papers in English in Rio de Janeiro anyway.)
Most of the speakers here are from Brazil, Germany, and the USA (including my old friends Bogost and Shaviro). But Latour is the keynote in Rio, and a monster-sized crowd is expected there.
