Bonn summer school wrap-up

July 12, 2012

Today was the last day, capped by an outstanding student panel. Everyone I spoke with agreed that this was a remarkable two weeks. I don’t recall ever having learned this much philosophy in two weeks before now. We did 8.5 days at 6 hours per day, for a total of 51 hours, or a bit more than a semester’s work. A number of central issues clearly emerged from our discussions, and there were some really tremendous breakthroughs.

The student body was highly international, with participants from as far away as the Philippines and Sri Lanka. (And faculty from as far away as –*ahem*– Egypt.)

There’s a group boat trip tomorrow down to picturesque LINZ AM RHEIN, but the academic portion of the two weeks is now complete. I already had high expectations for this, but it really exceeded those expectations. Congratulations to the organizers.
