winding down in Bonn
July 11, 2012
Iain Grant spoke all day on Schelling’s philosophy of nature (and for Iain, all of Schelling is philosophy of nature, regardless of the supposed period). Whenever he speaks, you can see why he’s reportedly such a popular teacher. With Markus Gabriel moderating, it was two Schelling specialists at the table, but the students were still unafraid to ask a number of pointed questions.
The Schelling theme continues tomorrow morning with a 3-hour discussion of the Freedom essay. A student panel follows after lunch, and then the academic portion of this Summer School is complete. There will be a boat excursion down the Rhein on Friday, however.
