a nice feature of Bonn

If this exists in other German cities as well, I haven’t seen it yet. But in Bonn, there are glass cases here and there that look somewhat like old phone booths. Inside them are shelves of books. You are invited simply to take or leave books at your own discretion.

Today I picked up Schiller’s Don Karlos, for instance. I’ll leave a different book or two there tomorrow to make up for pillaging the Schiller today.
