Ray Bradbury

American science fiction writer Ray Bradbury has died at age 91. Obituary HERE.

My father has always been a fan, and as a result, we always had a number of Bradbury books around the house since I was an infant. For whatever reason, I never sat down and read hundreds of his pages, but browsing through his books on my father’s shelf left a huge impact on me nonetheless. There was something chilling about the fragments of Bradbury’s vision that I encountered in that browsing. Yet also something familiar, since he was from the American Midwest as well. It was like having an older uncle with a large stockpile of familiar stories.
