sounds like The Onion, but it’s really the NY Times

“Post-Traumatic Stress’s Surprisingly Positive Flip Side”

I didn’t read the story, being close to using up my free allotment of articles for the month. And incidental, they’re dropping it from 20 per month to 10 per month in April.

Can’t say I blame the Times at all. 20 free articles per month was only a mild inconvenience, and between my home and office computers, Blackberry, and free links to certain articles, I was somehow scraping by.

It’s not that I’m against paying for web subscriptions on principle. After all, they do have to stay in business, which means they do have to pay their reporters and editors. But in practical terms, I can’t bring myself to pay for a medium that still isn’t quite as convenient to sit down with as paper. Surprisingly, I’ve realized that I’d still be willing to buy a paper subscription to the Times if I lived within range. (You can get the Herald Tribune via subscription in Cairo to your doorstep, but somehow I never get around to it.)
