“Resonating Ontologies”

One Sterling Walker Hall has posted what seems to be an interesting essay, HERE, on Scribd.
I’ve only had a quick look at the essay, but it seems solid and imaginative at first glance.
The basic claim seems to be that contemporary continental thought is shaping up as a duel between speculative realism on the one hand and “post-continental Marxism” on the other. Adrian Johnston is cited as an example of the latter, though it is traced to Badiou and Zizek by the author.
That sounds plausible. The problem with putting me and Meillassoux in opposition to a Badiou-Zizek post-continental Marxist trend is that Meillassoux is a heck of a lot closer to that trend than I am. Namely, Meilassoux has an intellectual closeness to Badiou that I lack, and Meillassoux is personally also a lot closer to Marxism than I have ever been (partly through the full-blown Marxism of both of his parents, but even more through his personal inclinations).
But I really shouldn’t be going on at any length about Hall’s piece on Scribd until I’ve read it. This post is simply inviting you to read it at the same time that I do.
