what I just heard from Cairo

8 dead in Tahrir today. Lots of things being burned. Would be 2 AM in Cairo right now, but it seems to be still going.

[ADDENDUM: I was using the word “Tahrir” loosely here. The fighting seems to be on Mansour Street, a few blocks away from the square itself. Cairo is becoming as filled with historic battlefields as the American South. Strange how the action keeps moving to different places in the city.]
