O’Rourke book soon to appear

punctum books in Brooklyn has hit the ground running, to say the very least.

Here is the first sentence of the ad for Michael O’Rourke’s forthcoming book with them:

“Queering Speculative Realism is the first book to explore and fully work through the as yet under-acknowledged points of connection between the disparate fields of Queer Theory, Speculative Realism and Object Oriented Ontology.”

Often I am skeptical about books that announce blendings of multiple academic trends, and in a vacuum I probably would have been skeptical of this one as well.

However, I read O’Rourke’s article in Speculations on this theme, and it was outstanding. I have no doubt he can pull it off over the length of an entire book. This book will be worth reading.
