Happy New Year

In the meantime, Happy New Year to all of you.

It was an eventful 2011, especially for those of us who live in Egypt. On December 31, 2010 I was in Nicosia, Cyprus, and there was little hint that Egypt would be anything other than “business as usual” one year later. It’s now anything other than usual, of course, and when the city where you live is in upheaval, it makes everything else feel like potential upheaval as well.
