“The day has come when we’re quite thankful that the Muslim Brotherhood are winning the elections (as opposed to Salafists). I’m afraid that one day we’d also, unconsciously, be grateful that we’re wearing a veil & working in pre-defined jobs as opposed to niqab & staying home!”

*zing*

If the Salafists were ever in power, we’d all be out of here. I’m not living someplace where they whip and stone people.

And frankly, I’m a bit skeptical about that 24% figure for the Salafists. That’s not the Egypt I’ve known for over a decade. Something smells a bit strange here.

It is possible to set oneself up deliberately as the lesser of two evils, and I’m not referring to the Brotherhood.
