alBostoni discovers his Quran teacher in the runoff

December 1, 2011

HERE is a slice of Cairo for you. I know alBostoni a bit from Cairo (the blog name is a joking reference to his current residence in Boston), and even had lunch with him in Providence this summer.

alBostoni is a researcher in the natural sciences, and has just discovered that his childhood Quran teacher (a founding member of one of the liberal parties) is in a runoff with the Freedom & Justice Party (i.e. Muslim Brotherhood) candidate, for the seat in the area along Qasr al-Aini. He raises an interesting question as to whether or not this district includes Tahrir Square. It might. It’s right down there.
