Hugo de Garis in Forbes, predicting a catastrophic late 21st century war between Cosmists (pro-AI people), Terrans (anti-AI), and Cyborgists (want to use AI to augment rather than replace humans).

There’s still plenty of time to refine and reconsider one’s position, but my instinctive reaction is to join the Cyborgists, just because humans have been modifying themselves all along anyway and I’m suspicious of any absolute natural-artificial divide. But this problem is well worth speculating over.

Religious groups but also deep ecologists are likely to go Terran. The nihilists will go Cosmist.

Anyway, it’s probably the Chinese who will decide.
