I’ve often had gripes with David Kilpatrick’s reporting from Egypt, but the photographers at the New York Times have been second to none during this crisis.

And to repeat, I was down there last Saturday (passed through Tahrir maybe 45 minutes before everything started), and can say that the initial protest that day was so tiny that to tear-gas it was a needless escalation that led to many bad results.
