Heidegger/McLuhan article coming out in Sweden next month
November 12, 2011
When compiling Towards Speculative Realism, I tried to include all of the presentable unpublished material I had from 1997 through 2009. (Or rather, all such material that was on my hard drive in Cairo. There’s even more that exists in hard copy form in a storage locker in Iowa, but it’s not easy to get to that material at the moment.)
But shortly after Towards Speculative Realism went to press, I was sorry to discover that I had missed one piece that was on my hard drive, but too well-hidden to have noticed. That was a January 26, 1998 lecture in Toronto on Heidegger and McLuhan. I read it on the Cairo-Casablanca flight today and was surprised to find myself rather pleased with it.
It will appear in Sweden next month in an anthology. Marten Spangberg is involved with this project.
