just passing through

I was delighted when my Cairo-Brussels itinerary had me down for two very, very long layovers in Warsaw. It’s always a pleasure to meet with the Kronos editors, and especially with the one I know best– Marcin Rychter. It’s the old intelligentsia at its finest: chess, classical music, high literature and philosophy, and then an absolutely unbridled capacity for entertainment on top of that. And though I cannot read Polish, I can see how high-quality Kronos is, and how seriously they all work on it.

But the itinerary was messed up in both directions, and I had no Warsaw stop at all on the way up, and just this brief pass-through on the way back to Cairo.

This is a very nice airport terminal, however. I haven’t seen it before, so I suppose it must be new.
