a touch of Lovecraftian style in the news

This comes from a horrible story that I won’t link to (it’s too depressing) about some Philadelphia residents who had mentally disabled adults chained up in their basement in order to steal their social security checks.

But this part was interesting:

“Authorities believe the four were trapped in the tiny room for up to a week. Evers said they suffered from bed sores and ‘injuries that are very, very hard to describe.'”

There’s a little bit of Lovecraft in this “injuries that are very hard to describe.”
