the Army makes its case

HERE. But I’m afraid I don’t believe them.
“The ruling military council told reporters Wednesday that it did not intentionally kill Coptic protesters calling for equal rights last Sunday, blamed deaths on ‘radical priests’ and ‘foreign conspiracies’ against the nation”
Blaming “foreign conspiracies” is exactly what Mubarak did in the days after the Battle of the Camel. It led to my journalist friend Graeme Wood being arrested briefly as “AN IRANIAN SPY,” among many other ridiculous incidents.
Blaming “radical priests” for violent incitement is ridiculous. First of all, the Copts are much too small in number to engage safely in violent uprising against the state, and they know it. Second, what’s so “radical” about not wanting your churches burned down? This is why many Muslims supported the march by the Copts, and many brave Muslims even accompanied and tried to protect them.
