and now maybe Terry Francona
September 30, 2011
That was a historic late-season collapse for Boston, and Terry Francona may TAKE THE BLAME.
When I was young, I always found Francona boring in his player days for Montreal: sort of a one-dimensional semi-glamor boy.
But he’s had some interesting career twists as a manager, first serving as the minor league manager for none other than Michael Jordan (during his basketball retirement) and then winning two World Series championships for the formerly cursed Boston franchise. But now the curse may be coming back!
I’d like to see the Chicago Cubs hire both Francona and Theo Epstein to end their own curse, which is now at 102 years and running. Even the White Sox only needed 88 years.
