“what’s the longest you’d want to go without internet access?”

That was one of the WordPress question prompts just now. I’m not sure how long I’d want to go without the internet. But in the past 15 years, 8 days is the longest I have gone without out it– on the trip to Kenya and Tanzania last November.

In some ways it may have been good for me, but basically I think it was too long. The burden of digging out from 8 days’ worth of email was too heavy. If I hadn’t been in a university administrative position, it might have been different. That was a long vacation period for us during the Muslim holidays, but that doesn’t mean that people weren’t sending email.
