Academia.edu

What do you do with it? The site seems like not such a bad idea, but I can’t figure out what it would be useful to put there. Lots of people keep joining, and at first I kept following them all too (until I realized it was pointless, because I never go to the site).

The only real value of it so far is that I get to see lots of interesting-seeming people from various countries who have read some of my books. And yes, that’s interesting. But otherwise, I’m not sure how to fit Academia.edu into my intellectual ecosystem.

The one I really want to detonate is LinkedIn. They’re still my number one junkmailer.
