Amazon.de plug

They just sent me an ad for Heidegger’s Beiträge zur Philosophie, which has been in print since 1989, so this must be a new edition.

The advertisement includes the old chestnut about how this is Heidegger’s second magnum opus. I don’t see how that claim can be made, except if we interpret the “magnum” part in terms of sheer size. The book is very long, indeed. But it’s not his second great work. And in general, I am not so impressed with the 1930’s Heidegger in comparison with the 1920’s version. His resurgence as an innovator was from 1949 into the 1950’s.
