An off-day for lectures. I’ll sit for a painting by the talented and staggeringly rapid watercolorist Prudence Whittlesey (website HERE) who once again showed up at NYU and ran off 10 or 12 more of me while I spoke. As one of the NYU grad students put it, she’s able to give a good likeness after only putting about 3 lines on paper, and of course her speed is phenomenal.
Then a preview of a gallery opening in Brooklyn from the artist herself (don’t know her, but she’s a reader of my books), then night-time activities with a couple of St. John’s classmates– one not seen at all since 1990, though I did see the other at Villanova in April for the first time since 1990.
