on ruination

In the Lovecraft book I do a fair amount with the concept of “ruination”– i.e., what would it take to ruin some of Lovecraft’s best passages? From doing that exercise, you can see what makes the strong passages strong.

But it looks as though I was already having fun with the concept in December 2010, in THIS POST about attempting to ruin a very good passage by Lingis.
