helicopter still here

This is very annoying. It’s been in the air for hours now (presumably with a break or two that I didn’t notice). It’s now nearly 10 PM, and it’s far too dark for any police work from the air. And it’s circling too aimlessly to be a medical chopper taking people to hospitals.

I suppose it could still be doing traffic reports by watching for headlights, but who listens to (or offers) traffic reports at 10 PM?

Some inner city neighborhoods in the U.S. are plagued by the constant hovering of police helicopters, and I feel for those people at the moment. It ought to be quiet at this time of night.
