Mouctar Diallo is free
July 13, 2011
A week ago he was being threatened with imminent electric shock torture in The Gambia, which is not his home country (Guinea is).
Now our graduate student Mouctar Diallo has finally been allowed to leave The Gambia, thanks to the efforts of many people, including his advisor Professor Joseph Hill (Anthropology) and several fellow African graduate students who seem to know their way around these sorts of regimes.
This made me happy:
#MouctarDiallo SMS: On Senegalese side of border…thank you all from the bottom of my heart
