However, the policeman has fled and cannot be located.

Egypt hands out a lot more death sentences than it ever carries out, and it remains to be seen if that will still be the case for Revolution-related crimes. The one article I read said that there are an average of only two executions per year, by hanging. But there are quite a few more capital convictions than that.
