to put it candidly

Carlos Boozer of the Chicago Bulls:

“The good thing about our team is that we have all good guys,” he said. “We don’t have any jerks on the team, and in the NBA that’s rare.”

They just clinched the best record in the East for the first time since the Jordan Era. Yes, I’m excited. We’re all talking about Derrick Rose, but what a great job by Thibodeau in his first year as a head coach!

Absolutely no one was predicting this. It was primarily a question of whether Miami would have the best season in NBA history (far from it), and secondarily a question of Boston. Chicago was considered too young and a cut below.

Chicago still trails San Antonio by one game for best overall record in the NBA, and I hope they catch them in the last three. Would be nice to have homecourt advantage all the way through the NBA Finals.

Among other things, this means Boston and Miami can beat each other up in the playoffs before the Bulls face either. Good news.
