slideshow of planet Mercury
March 30, 2011
Nice work by NASA.
HERE.
I love space probes in general.
My favorite line is the caption to slide 5:
“The bright pockmark in the upper half of the image is a 50-mile-wide crater called Debussy. (Craters on Mercury are named after artists, musicians and writers.)”
Slide 6 is probably the most interesting image. It’s not the most exciting planetary landscape, of course.
There will be around 75,000 more photographs of Mercury, if the mission goes as planned.
