The tweet below looks really bad.

However, in fairness to McCain, though we all knew Qaddafi was a bit imbalanced and prone to shadowy activities, in 2009 he wasn’t yet “Qaddafi” the crowd-shooting psychopath of February-March 2011. I think it’s important to let people change their views with experience to some extent and not pin them down to what they said under different conditions.

Even so, this is one that he probably wishes he hadn’t tweeted.
