In Zawiya, the Libyan opposition has fought bravely but is still surrounded. In the east in Ras Lanuf, the news is much better for the rebellion:
1243: A rebel commander in the eastern oil port of Ras Lanuf has said they will continue to push westwards after winning a fierce battle with Col Gaddafi’s forces. “The goal in front of us is to topple the regime. There weren’t many martyrs yesterday despite the fact that they were more powerful than us,” Saleh al-Theytouri told the Reuters news agency.
