“how to help us Libyans”
March 5, 2011
One view from within Tripoli:
2033: Salem Saleem in Tripoli writes: “How the international community can help us Libyans: 1 – back the Libyan National Council as the legitimate and the only representation of the Libyan population 2 – act fast in establishing a non flying zone over Libya 3 – Help the anti-Gaddafi rebels with telecom equipment and intelligence about movement of Giddafi forces. The people of Tripoli are simmering, waiting for the right moment to come out without the threat of being shot. Don’t believe the propaganda of the government. Everyone with a green flag are either paid or are the sons of people that have killed people in the past and their future is tied to Gaddafi. These are only a couple of thousands at the most. Ninety nine point nine percent of Libyans hate the mere sight of Gaddafi’s picture or the mention of his name.”
