LSE director resigns

March 3, 2011

But the last sentence is misleading:

2044: Sir Howard Davies, director of the London School of Economics, has resigned over the university’s links to the family of Col Gaddafi. Sir Howard said in a statement he recognised that the LSE’s reputation had “suffered”. The LSE is investigating claims that one of Col Gaddafi’s sons plagiarised his PhD thesis there.

The hit to LSE’s reputation, of course, is not from the plagiarism but from the acceptance of a huge Libyan donation.
