The fullest version of the Libyan leader’s official story of the cause of the protest now seems to be as follows:

*hallucinogenic drugs

*taken in pill form

*produced in China

*distributed by Osama bin Laden

The bizarre thing about blaming bin Laden is that this seems pitched at a Western audience– as if he had any hope of swaying that group. I would have expected him to blame the Jews or at least the Italians. Blaming bin Laden came from out of the blue.
