excellent article on the Libyan mercenaries

Fantastic. We’ve needed something LIKE THIS.
Nick Meo of The Telegraph went to a detention center to talk to captured mercenaries. Here you can consider their side of the story. One was a 16-year-old shepherd from Chad who claims he was lured to Libya with promises of a job and then a gun was forced into his hand.
Granted, not all the stories can be like that. There were full-fledged mercenary ads in newspapers and people were responding to them. But there are undoubtedly some tragic cases of deception here as well.
It’s a good sign that these mercenaries are still in captivity, anyway, rather than having faced summary execution.
