None of the names are surprising here, since we had heard they were all in trouble. But I guess “jail” is the new word IN THIS STORY.
The Egyptian populace, insofar as I’ve spoken with that group, seems generally in favor of throwing the book at these people. But there also seems to be a certain scapegoat factor at work. Others will no doubt get away with having done equally bad things, simply because they’re on the right side of the transition.
And remember, Mubarak’s widely-derided replacement Cabinet is still in place.
