protestors want elections delayed
February 16, 2011
Back to Egypt, and THIS STORY in Ahram Online.
A group of protestors, including Wael Ghonim, wants elections 9 months from now rather than 6. The apparent worry: the Muslim Brotherhood has an organizational advantage over other opposition groups, which want more time to prepare for the elections.
This story also says the military expressed worry about the Brotherhood, which is the conventional view people have of the situation. Yesterday, by contrast, there were worries the army had struck a secret deal with the Brotherhood (since an Islamist judge, described by some as moderate but denounced by some secularists as anything but moderate, was put in charge of constitutional reform).
