I’m about to teach my first class of the semester here. One glaring fact is that only 7 students are enrolled for this Intro class, which is usually packed (it’s a required course, after all). The 5:00-6:15 time slot is presumably a concern for many parents under the circumstances.
Obviously, there are many varied individual opinions here about what has been going on. But from the Egyptians I’ve spoken with, I feel safe making the following two generalizations:
*the populace as a whole very much supports the revolution; not everyone, but the vast majority
*the average Egyptian supporter of the revolution trusts the army more than the average non-Egyptian supporter of the revolution; the mood here is not as worried about the army as you might expect
